Alvin Kamara Focused On Georgia, Clemson And Bama

BEAVERTON, OR. -- Saturday was a big day for Norcross (Ga.) High's Alvin Kamara. A consensus top-12 running back recruit, the 5'10, 191-pound Kamara showcased his versatility during the 7-on-7 portion of Nike's The Opening by catching numerous passes out of the backfield.

Afterwards, Kamara chatted with SB Nation about his experience at the event.

"It's real fun to be out here with some of the top guys in the nation. Having fun and competing," he said.

Kamara is being recruited hard by the contingent of Georgia Bulldogs recruits at The Opening, including Tramel Terry and Brice Ramsey.

But Georgia's commitments are not the only group to have Kamara's ear. He noted that "Florida's guys, and USC's guys, they both want me to go to their school."

Kamara doesn't have an official top group, but said that Georgia, Bama and Clemson are standing out the most to him, stating that "Georgia and Clemson are about opportunity. With Crowell and Bellamy being gone, I feel I can go in and make an instant impact." On the other hand, "Alabama gets the best players and they get their guys ready for the next level in the NFL. I like the way they run their program and their support. I'm comfortable in Tuscaloosa."

Clemson runs a spread offense, while Georgia and Aabama run more of a pro-style attack. But Kamara said that doesn't matter to him. He does, however, want to catch the football in college.

"I definitely want to go somewhere that incorporates my skills," Kamara said. He has three visits set up in July, saying that "I'll be at Dawg Night on the 13th, Alabama on the 15th and Clemson on the 20th."

Kamara doesn't have a timetable for an announcement. He had initially said that he would make it at the end of summer, but says that he won't lock himself into a timetable.
