Nebraska's picked up its first quarterback commit of the 2013 class, adding a verbal from Rivals' No. 14 dual-threat passer, Johnny Stanton of Rancho Santa Margarita, Ca. This has been sort of expected for a little while now, as Stanton had visited Lincoln twice recently already.
As reported by SB Nation Seattle's Scott Enyeart:
Just spoke with class of '13, and #Elite11 QB, Johnny Stanton who told me he has committed to #Nebraska. #Huskers

Scout and Rivals rate Stanton as a three-star, while 247Sports gives him a four-star rating. He was one of 25 quarterbacks to be chosen for the Elite 11 finals later this month in Redondo Beach.
