Clemson at Florida State: Seminoles Hosting Top Recruits

Stay connected with SB Nation

Leon McQuay III

Clemson comes to Tallahassee this weekend and it will be a huge opportunity for the Seminoles both on and off the field, as many the nation's top recruits will be in town. Here are five headliners.

It starts with Texas commitment A'Shawn Robinson, a massive defensive tackle out of Fort Worth (Texas) Arlington Heights High School. This was a bit of a surprise, and that he took the official visit shows he is interested in the Seminoles.

He'll joined by Dooly County (Ga.) High's Montravius Adams, as we reported earlier in the week. Adams is rated by most as the top defensive tackle recruit in the country, and Florida State is considered a bit of a long-shot for his signature.

Safety Leon McQuay III (pictured), of Seffner (Fla.) Armwood High, will also be tripping to Tallahassee. McQuay is also strongly considering Vanderbilt and USC, and is one of the top safety recruits nationally. His coverage skills remind some of Ed Reed, and he also offers corner versatility.

On the offensive side of the ball, Lake City (Fla.) Columbia's Laremy Tunsil will also join in on the fun. Tunsil is considered the nation's top offensive tackle recruit. His comments on Florida State have been very mixed, ranging from strong interest to no interest. Most believe the Seminoles trail Georgia, Alabama and perhaps Florida for his signature.

Hoping to sway him will be Florida State offensive guard commitment Ira Denson. Out of Madison County (Fla.) High, Denson has exploded on to the scene, emerging as one of the top offensive guard recruits in the country.
