The Fighting Irish added a 21st pledge and third Texan in the 2013 class on Sunday.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are off to their best start in a decade at 4-0 following Saturday night's defeat of the Michigan Wolverines. It all helped convinced once attendee to become part of the 2013 recruiting class, as Prosper (TX) wide receiver Torii Hunter, Jr. committed to play football and baseball in South Bend, a decision acknowledged Sunday on Twitter by his father, the outfielder for the Los Angeles Angels.

A consensus four-star prospect, Hunter is ranked as one of the top 250 players in the nation by the 247Sports composite. The overall MVP of the 7ON tournament at The Opening back in July, the 6-1, 172-pounder with 4.57 speed in the 40-yard dash just made plays for his team, which took home the championship in large part due to Hunter's efforts down the field, as he consistently created separation against the highest competition he could face at the high school level.

Prior to his commitment, Hunter held offers from Alabama, Iowa, Mississippi State, Missouri, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Stanford, TCU, Utah and West Virginia, as well as recent interest from Texas.

The Irish already had the son of one famous athlete committed in the class -- San Antonio (TX) Christian wide receiver Corey Robinson, the son of former NBA star David Robinson. Robinson and Hunter were roommates during their time in Beaverton at The Opening.

Hunter had known about the value of a Notre Dame education, but the gameday experience played a big role in his decision ($) as well:

Really it was just the atmosphere. I knew what I wanted academically and Notre Dame had it. I just wanted to see what a game-day atmosphere was like and that sealed the deal.

With his recruitment finished, Hunter has canceled his other official visit plans.
