A'Shawn Robinson signs with Alabama over Texas

The incredibly strong defensive tackle spurned the 'Horns over the weekend.

Report: A'Shawn Robinson will sign with Alabama

The big defensive tackle has reportedly told Texas coaches that he will not be signing with the 'Horns.

A'Shawn Robinson's final OV will be to Texas

After missing the Texas football banquet to travel to USC, the top-rated Texas recruit will take his official to Austin.

Five-star DT set to take two final official visits

The elite defensive tackle recruit is still committed to Texas, but will visit Alabama in January.

A'Shawn Robinson on USC official visit

As expected for some time, 2013 Texas commit A'Shawn Robinson, a five-star defensive tackle from Fort Worth (TX) Arlington Heights, is in Los Angeles this weekend for his official visit to USC.

The 6-5, 300-pounder was at practice watching the Trojans prepare for the Sun Bowl.

Robinson is still considered a fairly solid verbal to Texas, the school that he committed to back in February without taking visits. Florida State was a destination earlier in the fall for the game against Clemson, while an Alabama trip was cancelled, through Robinson still plans on making it to Tuscaloosa before Signing Day.

Do any of the schools have a significant chance of flipping one of the top defensive tackles in the country and getting him out of the state of Texas?

USC would seem to have the best chance, as Robinson grew up as a fan of the Trojans, who now have two open spots in the 2013 class after the decommitments of Max Redfield and Eldridge Massington.

How well the trip goes this weekend could go a long way towards determining whether Robinson signs with Texas in February.

Committed Five-Star DT Has Visits Scheduled

After visiting Florida State earlier this fall, the Metroplex product will take three more official visits.

Texas A'Shawn Robinson Taking Visits

Texas Longhorns recruitniks were shocked last week when 2013 Fort Worth Arlington Heights defensive tackle A'Shawn Robinson unexpectedly showed up in Tallahassee to watch the Florida State Seminoles take on the Clemson Tigers.

And the bad news for fans of the burnt orange and white continued Thursday, because Robinson isn't done taking visits -- he told 247Sports that he's also planning on taking official visits to USC and Alabama ($) before the process is through, even though the Trojans already have a full class with 18 pledges.

A source close to the Arlington Heights program considers USC to be a serious threat to the Longhorns.

A standout at The Opening due to his natural strength and ability to pick up tips on technique from current Detroit Lions star Ndamukong Suh, Robinson is currently the top-rated prospect in the Texas class after the defection of Sealy athlete Ricky Seals-Jones, a player Texas is no longer recruiting.

If there is some good news for the Longhorns, it's that Robinson plans on making his way down to Austin on Oct. 6 to see the school to which he is currently pledged. The game against the West Virginia Mountaineers will mark the first time the former Big East power will play in Austin as a member of the Big 12 conference, and the visitor list is expected to include some of the top targets still left on the Texas recruiting board.

Robinson added Thursday that he is still committed to play for Mack Brown and company but seemingly did not attach a percentage to his commitment. During the summer, he declared himself 100 percent committed to Texas as rumors swirled that he would take the visits he is now planning.
