Torii Hunter, Jr. suffers broken femur at US Army All-American Bowl practice

When 2013 Notre Dame wide receiver commit Torii Hunter, Jr. went down with a leg injury in Tuesday's practice in preparation for the US Army All-American Bowl, the initial prognosis was a torn quadricep, which can take 4-6 months to heal.

Unfortunately, the injury turned out to be a little bit worse than initially expected:

Like his famous father, THj is an outstanding baseball player, in this case for Prosper High School. With this news, he will miss his senior season on the diamond and will miss 6-8 months recovering from the injury. If there is a positive, it's that once Hunter's left femur heals, it's completely healed -- torn quadriceps that require surgery can sometimes take a full year for the injury to fully heal.

Hunter's father believes that his son will recover from his setback:

Notre Dame fans hope so.
