A major win for Tennessee on the recruiting trail.
Some huge news in Knoxville tonight, as multiple sources are reporting that Tennessee defensive-line commitment Jason Carr will stick with his commitment to the Volunteers.
Carr recently took a visit to Alabama and many recruiting experts expected him to flip to the Tide. That won't happen, however, and it appears an in-home visit with Tennessee's coaching staff is to thank.
A consensus four-star out of Memphis, Carr is arguably Tennessee's best commitment. At 6'6 and 270 pounds, Carr could play strong-side defensive end or tackle. He's a bit of a late bloomer, and is still learning how to use his big frame in the most effective way.
So positive is the news for the Vols, that Carr will even drive up (on his own dime) to Knoxville this weekend to help recruit star safety prospect Vonn Bell, of Georgia, to Tennessee. Bell is considered a heavy lean to Alabama, and is also considering Ohio State.
