Tarean Folston committed to Notre Dame on Jan. 2, but he also recently took a visit to Auburn.
Running back prospect Tarean Folston, from Cocoa High School in Florida, committed to Notre Dame early in January, but nonetheless took a visit to Auburn on the weekend of Jan. 18. Since Gus Malzahn took the head coaching job at Auburn, the Tigers have shown heavy interest in Folston, according to his high school coach.
"Ever since coach (Gus) Malzahn got the job they've been on him, talking to him, and coming by the school," John Wilkinson said. "Coach Malzahn came by the school. (Auburn wide receivers) coach (Dameyune) Craig has been on him since they got hired."
Folston said he had a good time during his visit with the Tigers.
"It was a good visit," Folston said. "I feel like everything went good. The coaches are great people. I got to meet a lot of the players and a huge offensive line. Everything pretty much went well.
"Their offense has been a successful offense over the years. Coach Malzahn is a pretty cool guy and Coach Lashlee is a cool, even-keel guy. Everything about those guys is great. They have a great future ahead of them. I think everything will go well these next few years."
Whether that's enough to change his mind about Notre Dame remains to be seen.
