Fitts had a good time in South Bend over the weekend. The former USC commit is still exploring his options after re-opening his recruitment in early January.
Defensive end prospect Kylie Fitts took an official visit to Notre Dame this weekend ($) and enjoyed the experience. Fitts liked how important faith is to the football program, and he thinks the school is the total package.
"The thing that stood out the most for me is how faith is really important in this program and that is very important to me," Fitts reported to BlueandGold.com following his official visit. "Secondly it was the overall prestige of the school - tradition, academics and football history."
Fitts had been a USC commitment until he was told his scholarship had been deferred from the spring to the fall. Fitts took extra classes in high school to graduate early with plans to enroll at USC in January. But the Trojans ended up not having room for him this semester, and now he's exploring other options.
Since decommitting, Fitts has taken a visit to UCLA, in addition to Notre Dame, and he's set to visit Utah on the weekend of Feb. 1, which is less than a week before signing day.
Fitts is considered a four-star prospect by Rivals and the ninth-best player at his position. He's also ranked as the No. 121 overall prospect in the class of 2013.
