Bud Elliott, SB Nation Recruiting
Five-star defensive tackle Eddie Vanderdoes will decide from suitors including USC, Notre Dame, and Alabama, but he won't tell the world his choice until Signing Day.
Elite defensive tackle prospect Eddie Vanderdoes will make his announcement on National Signing Day, meaning a list of schools including USC, Notre Dame, and Alabama will have to wait for the five-star recruit's decision.
The Placer, Calif., native will make his announcement on signing day, Feb. 6, at 5 p.m. Until then, his destination is anybody's guess.
Sacramento Bee reporter Joe Davidson caught up with Vanderdoes after he visited Notre Dame, a trip he reportedly really enjoyed. Next is a trip to Alabama, and he's already taken visits to Washington, UCLA, and USC -- a school he had already been committed to at one point in the recruitment process. There were rumors that Vanderdoes had recommitted to the Trojans, but Davidson insists that the 6'3, 310-pounder's commitment is wide open: all five schools are still in the mix.
Vanderdoes is considered the No. 1 defensive tackle in the nation by ESPN and No. 2 by Rivals. He'll be a major get clogging the middle for whichever program lands him.
