College football recruiting, Week 8: Notre Dame, Clemson welcoming top guests

Jonathan Daniel

Big games mean big visitors.

USC at Notre Dame

This game might have lost its luster from an on-field and national interest standpoint, but it's still a major recruiting weekend for the Irish. It should be the biggest recruiting event of the year for Notre Dame, in fact.

Expected are Illinois four-star linebacker Nyles Morgan, Florida four-star running back Bo Scarbrough (An Alabama commitment), California four-star tight end Tyleer Luatua, California five-star defensive back John "JuJu" Smith, Kentucky four-star defensive tackle Matt Elam, California four-star receiver Michiah Quick, Dallas four-star cornerback Nick Watkins, four-star receiver Erik Brown (a Washington commitment), four-star receiver Allen Lazard (an Iowa State commitment), and four-star guard Damien Mama, of California.

Florida State at Clemson

This game is bigger on the national stage than USC and Notre Dame, but smaller on the recruiting side of things. I'll be covering it live for SB Nation.

Georgia five-star linebacker recruit Raekwon McMillan will be there to take in the game on an unofficial visit. McMillan seems to be favoring Ohio State and also has interest in Alabama, but all schools are still in play.

North Carolina defensive end Lorenzo Featherston, a four-star with great length and explosion, will also be taking in the game. As will Georgia cornerback D.J. Walton, a four-star who also favors Tennessee, and North Carolina four-star receiver Trevion Thompson. North Carolina four-star running back Donte Thomas-Williams will be checking out the action, as will a paid of defensive ends -- Georgia four-star defensive end Andrew Williams and Alabama defensive end Cory Thomas.

Five-star linebacker to see Ole Miss against LSU.

Ole Miss will be hosting linebacker Clifton Garrett, of Illinois. Garrett is a five-star and is favoring LSU.
