Virginia Tech has added a key piece to their 2015 recruiting class, as four-star defensive end Michael Barnett has committed to be a Hokie.
Barnett is listed at 6'4" and 248 pounds and comes to Blacksburg from Woodland High School In South Carolina. He is considered a four-star recruit by the 247sports composite and rated as the 11th-best strong-side defensive end in the nation and the sixth best player from South Carolina.
With offers from Clemson, Florida State and Tennessee, Barnett was a highly sought-after recruit, and will look to be a key part of what is always a dynamic Virginia Tech defensive unit.
"It just seems like family there and I love their tradition on defense," Barnett said.
Barnett just wrapped up his junior season at Woodland, where he recorded 89 tackles, with an incredible 31 for a loss.
Last week, Virginia Tech added three-star athlete Marcus Lewis, from Washington, D.C., as their first member of the 2015 class.
