Mark Stoops and the Wildcats are picking up where they left off in 2013, securing the commitment of four-star defensive end Denzel Ware.

The Kentucky Wildcats picked up their first commitment of the 2014 recruiting cycle on Tuesday in defensive end Denzel Ware, according to 247sports.com. Ware is a consensus four-star defensive end from Opp (Ala.) High School, and stands 6'3, 220 pounds. He also holds offers from Florida State, Alabama, Florida, Clemson, USC, Texas, Ohio State, Georgia Tech, and Louisiana-Lafayette.

Ware was previously committed to Florida State, but decommitted on Feb. 3, and it appears that he will follow new head coach Mark Stoops and defensive coordinator D.J. Eliot from Tallahassee to Lexington.

Ware's commitment means that Mark Stoops and the Wildcat coaching staff are picking in 2014 right where they left off in 2013, when they picked up a seven recruits rated three-stars or higher in the 10 days leading up to National Signing Day, most notably four-star defensive end and former USC commit Jason Hatcher and four-star athlete and former Nebraska commit Marcus McWilson.
