The Mississippi Rebels just can't miss on the recruiting trail right now. Despite already having numerous highly-touted running backs committed for the 2013 class, four-star tailback Jordan Wilkins reportedly gave his pledge to the program on Saturday afternoon.
Read More: Earlier this week, SB Nation predicted Wilkins would commit to the Rebels.
Wilkins, who is 6'1 and 210 pounds, is ranked as the 10th-best running back in his class, according to Rivals. He had scholarship offers to most SEC schools and numerous top teams from around the nation, including Michigan and Nebraska. He originally committed to Auburn back in July.
Wilkins' commitment to Ole Miss could move the Rebels into the top 10 for recruiting classes this spring. For head coach Hugh Freeze, his turnaround of the program almost seems too good to be true.
The news of Wilkins committing could send ripple effects throughout the league. Peyton Barber, who is another four-star tailback verbally committed to Mississippi, is taking an official visit to Auburn University this weekend. Given the number of tailbacks now headed UM, Barber could elect to switch his pledge to the Tigers.
