Peyton Barber decommits from Ole Miss, likely Auburn bound

Stay connected with SB Nation

As expected, Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton High School running back Peyton Barber decommitted from the Ole Miss Rebels Sunday night. Barber also had an offer from Texas, and is a four-star recruit according to most services.

SB Nation predicted the move earlier in the week in its National Signing Day Predictions. Barber is expected to sign with Auburn.

Barber is the teammate of Carl Lawson, a five-star defensive end who reaffirmed his commitment to the Auburn Tigers Sunday.

Barber visited Auburn over the weekend.

Perhaps in a response to the anticipated move by Barber, Ole Miss grabbed former Auburn running back commitment Jordan Wilkins.

Auburn is also in the running for defensive tackle Montravius Adams and defensive end Elijah Daniel, who rate as five and four stars, respectively. Both visited the Tigers over the weekend.
