Oh, good! Yet another great running back for the Tide. Follow @SBNationCFB Follow @SBNRecruiting
Alvin Kamara, a 5'10, 190-pounder, is a consensus four-star recruit and is considered one of the nation's top 12 running backs. Rivals has him listed No. 2 at the position, and No. 45 at any position in the nation, while ESPN has him a bit lower at No. 4 amongst running backs. The Norcross, Ga., native can run a 4.55 40, but SB Nation's recruiting analyst Bud Elliott noticed other things about Kamara besides his speed:
Kamara is a great all-purpose running back recruit. He has excellent body control, hands and quickness.
There were two dogs in the race throughout Kamara's recruitment: the Bulldogs and the Crimson Tide. When Elliott caught up with Kamara for the first time back in July, he was considering Georgia, Clemson, and Alabama. Later that month? Drop Clemson, throw in Oklahoma State, Tennessee, and Florida State - but the top two remained.
And down the home stretch, with Signing Day approaching, it was down to Georgia and Alabama. A factor for Kamara could have been the recruitment of Derrick Henry, who decommitted from Georgia and swapped to Alabama, giving him potential competition in the Crimson Tide backfield.

Recruitment timeline: Kamara had two schools in his mind the entire way, needing to decide between Georgia and Alabama.
