Tyrell Robinson made his decision to commit to Oregon this evening, picking them over Washington. Tyrell will join his brother Tyree, who also signed with the Ducks.
Unlike his brother (who is versatile enough to play multiple spots and probably has multiple avenues to hitting the playing field) Tyrell seems pretty locked into playing outside linebacker. He has a solid frame that could make him the type of aggressive rusher that could excel in passing situations. Robinson also should be fast enough to be a prototypical linebacker and be a good tracker in open space, a necessity for an outside linebacker. Robinson probably needs a year to fully develop into that position but it's likely that he'll end up seeing the field sooner rather than latter.
Tyrell's brother Tyree is a four-star player himself who could end up playing either offense (as a receiver) or defense (in the secondary). Additionally, both are being recruited to play basketball, so they have a chance to become pretty solid two-sport athletes.
Ratings: Tyrell is a consensus four-star defender at linebacker.
Vitals: Tyrell weighs in at 200 pounds and measures at 6'3.
Other offers: Tyrell had offers from all Pac-12 schools, plus Georgia, Missouri and Tennessee in the SEC, Notre Dame and Oklahoma.
Recruitment timeline: The Robinson twins took multiple trips to Oregon in September and committed to the Ducks. They then reopened their recruitment but remained committed after the departure of Chip Kelly to the NFL. After visits to USC and Washington, the Robinsons ultimately decided on the Ducks.
