It seems likely that Auburn commit Tashawn Bower has signed with Florida, even though the recruit denies it. It could be influenced by fellow defensive end prospect Elijah Daniel signing with Auburn out of nowhere.
It appears Florida has flipped four-star Auburn defensive end commit Tashawn Bower, although the recruit denies it for now.
Reporters from several outlets that cover Florida recruiting -- Derek Tyson of ESPN, Keith Niebuhr of 247, and Mark Wheeler of Florida's Rivals site -- all reported that the Somerville, N.J., native had faxed in his letter of intent. It seems likely that they'd all have word from Florida's athletic department, from whom they're getting the rest of their info on recruits signing. However, Bower denied it via Twitter.
The problem? His announcement isn't until 9:30. Basically, reporting on the story appears to have spoiled his announcement.
Bower had been committed to Auburn since June, but had been on visits to Florida, Florida State, and LSU in the past month. He wasn't necessarily considered likely to flip -- Bud Elliott didn't include him on a list of 60 uncommitted recruits.
It's not the worst news for Auburn: It landed Ole Miss commit Elijah Daniel at the same position in a signing day surprise, a move that could have influenced Bower.
