The Kentucky Wildcats have continued their late momentum, signing defensive end Jason Hatcher. Hatcher was committed to USC up until Tuesday, when he decommitted and flipped over to the Wildcats. The 6'3, 240-pound Louisville (Ky.) Trinity product will end up staying close to home for school instead of playing across the country.
Hatcher went with Kentucky over USC, Louisville, Alabama, Arkansas, and Auburn, amongst others. He's the cherry on top of a remarkably good recruiting class for new head coach Mark Stoops, who arrived in Lexington about two months ago. Right before he announced his intentions to go to Kentucky on Tuesday, the Wildcats secured the commitment of wide receiver and fellow Kentucky native Ryan Timmons.
Even with a nice recruiting class coming into town, Stoops and the Wildcats have a huge task on their hands to become competitive in the SEC. They'll need more players like Hatcher to get them up to speed, but it looks like Kentucky is taking the first step.
