Kalvaraz Bessent commits to Alabama over Florida

Georgia cornerback Kalvaraz Bessent committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide and becomes the second 2014 prospect that Nick Saban has landed.

The Alabama Crimson Tide picked up their second early commitment of the 2014 recruiting class when Kalvaraz Bessent decided to pledge to Nick Saban and company. Alabama reportedly beat out Florida, the other school in Bessent's final two.

Bessent hails from Kingsland (Ga.) Camden County High and plays the position of cornerback in high school; He stands at 5'11 and weighs in at 170 pounds. Bessent is a consensus four-star recruit and Kirby Smart was Bessent's primary recruiter.

Rivals ranks Bessent as the 239th best recruit in this class. Bessent is currently ranked as the 109th best recruit by 247Sports, who also places him as the eighth best cornerback overall in this class and the seventh best prospect in the state of Georgia. Bessent is the 15th best cornerback according to Scout. Other than Alabama, Bessent holds offers from schools like Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Ohio State, Ole Miss, and Tennessee.
