After top 2014 quarterback prospect Kyle Allen committed to Texas A&M, we plotted out the likeliest next major quarterback commitments over the coming weeks. One scenario was Central Catholic (Toledo, Oh.) Composite four-star DeShone Kizer to Notre Dame, which, yep:
Dominos keep falling. Ohio QB DeShone Kizer has committed to Notre Dame. #LSU sights set on Brandon Harris.— Shea Dixon (@Sheadixon) June 11, 2013
Kizer holds offers from two dozen programs, including Alabama, LSU, Nebraska, and Penn State. His commitment is a little bit of a surprise, since he said just a few days ago at Columbus' Elite 11 he intended to take some SEC visits.
At 6'5, 207 pounds, he's considered a dual-threat quarterback who'll fit just fine into Brian Kelly's offense, which used Everett Golson's wheels to effect in 2012.
According to the roadmap, Harris indeed looks to be up next. Auburn, Alabama, and Ohio State are competing with LSU for his services. Oklahoma's David Cornwell could also be next, likely to Alabama, now that his high school eligibility issue has resolved.
Kizer is the 11th commit in the Irish's 2014 class.
