The IMG 7v7 National Championship final kicks off Sunday morning. After Saturday's pool play, the teams have been seeded, and the question on everyone's mind is: can anyone defeat the South Florida Express? SFE was a perfect 4-0 in pool play, winning by an average score of about 44-8, while playing defenders on offense and offensive players on defense to avoid further embarrassing the competition. I wrote about SFE's incredible offensive lineup Saturday, along with early recruiting notes. SFE is a previous national champion, with former quarterbacks including Teddy Bridgewater and Geno Smith.
The bracket is below. SFE is unlikely to encounter serious competition until 12:30, when it should face either Tennessee Express Gold, or Top Recruits. TEG has elite-level players from Tennessee and Alabama, but it doesn't have the same chemistry that SFE has, probably because it doesn't practice together as much. Top Recruits is a very good defensive team, but it likely does not have the offensive firepower to score with SFE. Some think AWP could give SFE a game at 11:20, but AWP, while well coached, does not have the firepower to hang with SFE. It would be a big upset for SFE to drop a single game.
I'll be updating the comments section throughout the day.
