Sean White planning visits: Quarterback recruit to see Cal, Cincinnati

Student Sports

White has a strong arm, compact release and good balance.

Sean White, of Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) University School, continued his impressive summer Saturday at the Elite 11 Columbus Quarterback Camp.

The 6'2, 205-pound signal-caller holds numerous BCS scholarship offers. After the event, he spoke with SB Nation.

On how his game has improved since the Atlanta Elite 11:

"Just going through spring football, getting reps and muscle memory. It was a great event out here today, competing against so many great quarterbacks."

On what he plans to work on after the camp:

"They told me that my arm has always been great, and my footwork needs work. I've been working on that"

On what he did best:

"My consistency, just putting the ball in the right spots in the right situations."

What schools are standing out to White?:

"Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, West Virginia -- they have a commitment, but I like them, Houston -- I like them because of their offense, and then California, which I'll visit next weekend, though they haven't offered me yet, but I think they will. And Wisconsin, I am visiting them soon as well. And Cincinnati, I want to get up there this summer. A big thing that stands out to me is their coaching. Coach Gran, used to be at Florida State, coach Henshaw, used to be at Tennessee, and coach Tubberville, who is famous, too, so they have a great thing going."

"If you're a good quarterback, you can play in any system."

When does White plan to commit?:

"I plan to do it before my senior season, because spots fill up, and some teams only take one quarterback."

With which coaches does White have the best relationship?:

"Coach Bollinger from Pitt, I think he's great. Coach Ludwig from Wisconsin, coach Franklin from Cal, and Coach Henshaw from Cincinnati, I really think all of those coaches are great. I would say those four. And all four are unique."

Bud Elliott, National Recruiting Analyst: Watch for Cal here. I sat next to White on the flight into Columbus, and he is intrigued by Sonny Dykes' wide-open offense. Plus, White is very bright, and appreciates Cal's academics.
