Coaches and scouts have raved about him, and his video is excellent, but Monday was the first time I got to see Cameron Robinson in person. The 6'6, 320-pound offensive tackle didn't disappoint.
Out of West Monroe (La.), Robinson is rated as the No. 1 offensive tackle in the country by all four recruiting services. A projected left tackle, he is coming off a season where he earned AP Class 5A All-State and All-District honors. Robinson has fielded offers from virtually every program in the country, but it looks to be a two-man race between Alabama and his home-state LSU Tigers.
I spoke with Robinson about his experience at Nike's The Opening 2013, his battles with elite defensive linemen, his game and where his recruitment is heading. Robinson was dominant in the 1-on-1 drills, and the coaches at The Opening took note, giving him a lot of praise.
