Cavaliers fans have been able to gape at Quin Blanding's production at Nike's The Opening in Beaverton, Ore. He's lived up to the hype as the top safety in the country, with impressive results in drills and solid play in game situations.
It would have been easy to say that Blanding is the top recruit in Virginia history. He's the No. 1 safety in the nation per 247's composite, a consensus 5-star, and as Bud Elliott wrote in his scouting report of Blanding, the 6'2, 200-pounder has got the full package. But he was joined by Andrew Brown, ranked as the No. 1 DT in the country, in a Virginia class that's turning heads around the country.
SB Nation Recruiting caught up with Blanding, asking him about his favorite Nike gear from the week, what he tells other recruits about why they should come to Virginia and his hopes for the future with Mike London in Charlottesville. Blanding also dishes on which players he's trying to bring with him to Virginia.
