The Alabama Crimson Tide landed the commitment of consensus five-star offensive tackle Cameron Robinson on Wednesday. Robinson, a West Monroe (La.) native, chose Alabama over the in-state LSU Tigers. He was originally planning to commit back in August, but pushed the date back so that ESPN could cover it.
Robinson is rated among the top overall prospects in the country, and is rated as the top overall prospect by 247. All four major recruiting services have him rated as the top offensive line prospect in the nation, and have him placed as the third best prospect in the country at the very lowest.
Robinson has tremendous size, athleticism and balance. He always seems to be in good position to deliver a powerful block.
At 6'8, 318 pounds, Robinson is a mountain of a football player, and he holds offers from some of the biggest programs in the country. Aside from Alabama and LSU, he has offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Michigan, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, TCU, Ole Miss, Texas, Texas A&M, and Washington. His commitment further cements Alabama atop the 2014 recruiting rankings, ahead of Ohio State and Tennessee.
