Zaycoven Henderson officially decommits from TCU

The four-star defensive tackle has six schools he is considering.

The back-and-forth saga of Longview (Texas) defensive tackle Zaycoven Henderson's commitment status on Wednesday evening -- first he had decommitted, then he hadn't -- came to a conclusion on Thursday morning when Henderson himself took to Twitter to reveal that he had in fact decommitted from the TCU Horned Frogs:

And despite other rumors that the Texas Longhorns are the team to beat for the 6'1, 280-pounders services, Henderson later released a top six:

Henderson said that his plan is to take some visits, presumably official, before making his decision, then listed Florida, Ole Miss, Texas, and Baylor as schools that might receive them, which would likely leave TCU and South Carolina battling for the other official visit, assuming that no other schools seriously enter his recruitment.

Of Henderson's top six, Florida and South Carolina are not listed as having offered Henderson to this point. The frontrunner, according to his 247Sports page, is Texas, though Henderson obviously did note that there is no order to his top six. All of the 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions currently have the nation's No. 24 defensive tackle heading to Austin to play his college football, where he would join a class that currently has two defensive tackle commits in San Antonio (Texas) Warren's Trey Lealaimatafao and New Orleans (La.) St. Augustin's Courtney Garnett.

The decision to decommit leaves TCU without a defensive tackle in the 2014 class and with nine commits in a class that ranks No. 8 in the Big 12 currently and No. 58 in the country -- Gary Patterson and his staff have some work to do to finish strong with this group.
