Bud Elliott, National Recruiting Analyst: There is a lot to like about Christian Miller. He can eventually play at 245+ pounds in my estimation, and it is a player with great length for an outside linebacker in the 3-4 defense.
Miller demonstrates very good speed in the open field, and closes distance extremely well. He also plays with good functional strength, and I believe he will be able to better set the edge in college after a year or two in the weight room, adding strength in the lower half. I like Miller's burst off the edge in pass rush, as well, and he is a player who effectively uses his hands well both against the run and the pass.
I do have some concerns about Miller, however, that show up on film. I do not think he has elite agility, but is rather very straight lined. And I also don't think he has great instincts. Most of the big plays he makes on film are at full speed with great athleticism, and not based on his instincts and reading of the football.
Still, Miller is a special prospect because of all the things he does well, and I fully expect him to be a multi-year starter at the BCS level.
