The University of Wisconsin and Brigham Young University announced Thursday that the two schools will play a home-and-home series, starting in 2017. The Badgers will visit Provo, Utah to kick off the series. BYU will visit Madison in 2018.
Wisconsin has never visited LaVell Edwards Field. The two schools had already agreed, this past July, to play in November of 2013 at Camp Randall Stadium. Wisconsin and BYU have only met on the gridiron once before. Jim McMahon and the Cougars visited Camp Randall on Sept. 20, 1980 and came home with a 28-3 win.
Dates for the games in 2017 and 2018 have not yet been set. BYU athletic director Tom Holmoe told the press that "we're always looking for opportunities to schedule storied football programs like Wisconsin."
Since Brett Bielema took over as Wisconsin's head coach in 2006, the Badgers are 64-21, the 11th best winning percentage in the nation. During that span, BYU is 64-19, the 10th best mark in the country.
