The Pitt Panthers hope to shake things up in the Big East standings by beating their second ranked opponent of the year when they face the No. 18 Louisville Cardinals on Saturday.
The Pitt Panthers look to shock another ranked team as the No. 18 Louisville Cardinals try to stay undefeated when they head on the road for their Big East opener.
The Cardinals are 5-0, and have emerged as one of three teams on top of the Big East in their non-conference schedule. But it's not the world's most impressive 5-0: the only BCS teams they've faced are shaky Kentucky and North Carolina squads, and they've won their last three games – against the Tar Heels, FIU, and Southern Miss – by only a combined 16 points.
Pitt, on the other hand, looked to be one of the laughingstocks of college football after losing to FCS Youngstown State in their opener, but bounced back from an 0-2 start with a convincing 35-17 win over a then-No. 13 Virginia Tech squad. Tino Sunseri has come on strong in the past three games with six touchdowns and only one pick, and almost led the Panthers to a victory over Syracuse with 319 yards passing, but the team fell short, 14-13.
Game time, TV channel: 11 a.m. ET, ESPNU
Point spread: Louisville favored by 1½ points
