Ranked third in the nation, South Carolina heads to Baton Rouge to take on LSU.
Fresh off of a victory over the Georgia Bulldogs to climb to their best national ranking in three decades, the South Carolina Gamecocks travel to Baton Rouge to take on the LSU Tigers in another marquee SEC showdown.
Led by quarterback Connor Shaw and running back Marcus Lattimore, the Gamecocks have also started the season 6-0 and reeling off four straight wins to start their SEC schedule, off to an early lead in the SEC's East division.
LSU was unable to hang with the Florida Gators last weekend, suffering their first loss of the season and falling from No. 3 to No. 9 in national rankings as the first BCS rankings loom at the end of this weekend. Tigers quarterback Zach Mettenberger, who had thrown six touchdowns against just two interceptions before the meeting with the Gators, threw a pick and completed 44 percent of his passes.
In SEC fashion, both squads are ranked within the top-10 in the nation in scoring defense, and both will look to score points where they can in the primetime meeting.
Game time, TV channel: 8 p.m. ET, ESPN
Point spread: LSU is favored by two points at home.
