Stanford arrives in South Bend in upset mode as they try to win their fourth consecutive game against Notre Dame. Dynamic senior wide receiver and kick returner Ty Montgomery is doubtful with a knee injury for Stanford.

Notre Dame returns home after blowing out Miami (FL) 41-3 on the "road" in front of a friendly crowd at Soldier Field in Chicago. Quarterback Everett Golson came off the bench to guide the Irish to 587 yards of offense, including 376 yards rushing.
