Duke is beating Virginia Tech pretty badly right now. If Duke wins, it's bowl eligible. Nothing makes sense. The only bad news for the Blue Devils: starting quarterback Sean Renfree is hurt.

Duke is beating Virginia Tech, 20-7, with a few minutes left in the first half. You'll recall Duke has a better record already than do the Hokies. I don't know how to explain any of this.

One development: starting senior quarterback Sean Renfree, who ranks fourth in the ACC in passing efficiency, is "probably out" due to his shoulder injury, according to the ACC Network crew. It happened on this gruesome hit by Bruce Taylor:

Backup Anthony Boone has performed capably so far other than throwing an interception, completing three of five and YEAH, STILL LEADING VIRGINIA TECH. That whole BEATING VIRGINIA TECH thing hasn't changed yet. Duke is still beating Virginia Tech, in case I haven't mentioned that yet.
