Tyler Russell beat out Tyler Bray in a battle of quarterbacks as the Mississippi State Bulldogs stayed undefeated in a win over the Tennessee Volunteers.
The Mississippi St. Bulldogs edged out the Tennessee Volunteers in an SEC shootout in Starkville. Here are some of the video highlights of the Mississippi State victory.
Mississippi State quarterback Tyler Russell completed over 62% of his passes while compiling 291 passing yards on the game. Russell found Marcus Green to make it 27-14 and sealed the game late with a touchdown throw to Malcolm Johnson. Dak Prescott also threw two passes, one of them a touchdown to Green. The Bulldog rush attack had some decent push, generating two touchdowns via Josh Robinson and LaDarius Perkins.
Tyler Bray was held in check, completing under 55% of his passes while throwing two touchdowns and one interception. Tennessee did manage to pile up over 213 rushing yards and got a highlight-worthy kickoff return from Cordarrelle Patterson to keep the game close, but it was the Bulldogs who stayed ahead of the Vols for most of the game.
