Texas Longhorns quarterback David Ash will be starting against the Baylor Bears on Saturday despite a wrist injury, as reported on Twitter by Kirk Bohls of the Austin American-Statesman. In the fourth quarter of their loss to the Oklahoma Sooners, Ash was taken out of the game with what was called a wrist contusion. He did not return to the game and it was later diagnosed as a fractured wrist of undisclosed severity.
The Longhorns will try to avoid suffering three straight losses after giving up 48 points to West Virginia and getting flattened by the Sooners.
So far in 2012, Ash has been a solid game manager for Texas. The sophomore has thrown for 1,389 yards with 11 touchdowns and three interceptions. He will take the starting spot back from Case McCoy, who finished off the blowout loss against the Sooners with 102 yards through the air and two touchdowns.
