Iowa running back Mark Weisman is not listed on the depth chart for the Hawkeyes' upcoming matchup with Penn State after sustaining an ankle injury last Saturday against Michigan State.
The Iowa Hawkeyes look as though they will be without starting running back Mark Weisman for Saturday's contest with the Penn State Nittany Lions.
Weisman was not listed on the depth chart for Saturday's game. Instead, freshman Greg Garmon is listed as the starting running back. Weisman injured his ankle on Iowa's final play of regulation in Saturday's victory over Michigan State. He did not play in the overtime period and was seen wearing a walking boot after the game.
Weisman has been a bright spot for Iowa this season. A walk-on sophomore, Weisman inherited the starting running back job after both Damon Bullock and Garmon went down to injury in Iowa's Sept. 15 victory over Northern Iowa. He's since excelled as the feature back. Weisman has rushed for over 100 yards in each of his four games as a starter, totaling 631 yards and eight touchdowns on 100 carries this season.
