Denard Robinson injury: Michigan QB good to go for Sparty game

US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The Michigan Wolverines will have quarterback Denard Robinson in action on Saturday against the Michigan State Spartans.

The Michigan Wolverines will have starting quarterback Denard Robinson at their disposal on Saturday, as the team's official Twitter sent out a quote from him saying that he's "ready to play." The Wolverines will take on rival Michigan State on Saturday, and there was some doubt as to Robinson's status, as he hurt his right pinkie in the first quarter of a game against Illinois.

Robinson ran up the middle and was given a hard hit by Illinois' Ashante Williams, and was replaced by Russell Bellomy until later in the second quarter. Robinson ended up accounting for four touchdowns in that game, including two through the air and two on the ground. Early in the third quarter, Robinson scored on a 49-yard touchdown run.

All-in-all, Robinson accounted for 159 yards through the air and 128 yards on the ground, so he definitely seemed fine after suffering the injury. It's worth noting that his number of pass attempts was low: he completed seven of 11 throws on the day.
