The Cornhuskers are discussing a possible football game against Northwestern at Wrigley Field that would be the first at the iconic baseball stadium since Illinois and Northwestern faced each other in 2010.

Two years since Northwestern and Illinois played a football game at Wrigley Field in 2010, the Nebraska Cornhuskers are kicking around the idea of playing a 2014 game against Northwestern at the home of the Chicago Cubs, according to Tom Shatel of The Omaha World-Herald.

While still entirely unconfirmed and not yet even discussed with Northwestern officials, Nebraska Athletic Director Tom Osborne told reporters on Monday that they are considering other options as well:

"There have been no discussions (with Northwestern)," said Nebraska Athletic Director Tom Osborne on Monday. "As of right now, we're just talking about possibilities. We've also talked about playing Northern Illinois in Chicago (at Soldier Field)."

During the 2010 game at Wrigley Field, both teams were required to play towards the same end zone, as the other end zone was deemed too close to the iconic, ivy-covered brick wall in the outfield to be safe. For a feasible return to football at Wrigley, the end zones will likely be adjusted so that teams can play in both directions.
