Marcus Lattimore not at Wednesday's practice

Jeff Blake-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore missed practice on Wednesday, likely with a bruised hip.

South Carolina Gamecocks running back Marcus Lattimore didn't practice with the team on Wednesday, as reported by the team's official Twitter account. Josh Kendall then noted that it could be a hip injury, or it could be a "flu bug," that was referenced by coach Steve Spurrier recently. Either way, Lattimore isn't at practice and that could be a cause for concern.

Lattimore has a bruised hip, and didn't miss any practice on Tuesday, but Spurrier said he expects Lattimore to play this weekend against No. 2 Florida. The Gators are doing extremely well this season, so if Lattimore is out, No. 7 South Carolina will have a tough job of getting away with a win. Lattimore had 212 yards and three touchdowns against Florida two years ago, but missed last season's game with an ACL injury.

Still, it's likely that Lattimore missing practice on Wednesday was planned from the start. With a hip injury, the team doesn't want to put too much on him so he's fresh for the game, but it will be interesting to see if he's limited at all come Saturday.
