Ohio State, TCU announce future football series

Greg Bartram-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The Ohio State Buckeyes will take on the TCU Horned Frogs in a home-and-home series in 2018 and 2019. No word on whether the Little Sisters of the Poor are involved.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are going to play a home and home series against the TCU Horned Frogs in 2018 and 2019, as announced by both schools on Tuesday. The two teams will play in TCU's backyard in Fort Worth first, on Sept. 15, 2018 and then they'll head to Columbus on Sept. 21, 2019 for game two.

TCU is taking on some big names in the coming years, including a game against the LSU Tigers at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, which replaced a home-and-home series the two had scheduled for 2013 and 2014. They made the change, in so many words, because of the fact that a game played in that stadium generally equates to more money in everyone's pocket.

Meanwhile, the Buckeyes may be looking for a few higher profile games here and there in order to prepare for changes to the postseason format coming to the NCAA in the future. As previously noted on SB Nation, Ohio State has a good deal of games against MAC opponents through 2017, but will likely be changing that in favor of some tougher non-conference games. A series with TCU would certainly qualify as tougher on paper, with the MAC teams' propensity for hard-fought upsets notwithstanding.
