Auburn Tigers head coach Gene Chizik lost two players Saturday morning for the season with undisclosed injuries.
Auburn tight end Philip Lutzenkirchen and right tackle Avery Young will both miss the rest of the season with injuries, according to Auburn beat writer Joel A. Erickson.
Head coach Gene Chizik hasn't released any specifics about either injury but it's believed Lutzenkirchen has been dealing with a troublesome hip, according to Erickson. He did make the trip to Nashville to watch his team play against Vanderbilt but a tweet from the senior tight end earlier Saturday morning foreshadowed this news:
God has a plan for me and will guide me through this storm. 🙏War Eagle

Lutzenkirchen is second on the team with 15 catches for 139 yards but has not found the end zone this season. He will end his Auburn career just four shy of Cooper Wallace's university-record 63 receptions by a tight end.
As for Young, the freshman offensive lineman was unable to make the trip with the team. Fellow freshman Patrick Miller is starting the fourth straight game in Young's place.
