The Michigan Wolverines beat the Michigan St. Spartans 12-10 to win for the first time against their in-state rivals since 2007. Here are the video highlights.
The Wolverines took a 6-0 halftime lead thanks to two Michigan field goals by Brendan Gibbons (from 24 yards out) and Matt Wile (from 48 yards). Michigan State would respond in the third quarter when Andrew Maxwell threw a two yard touchdown pass to Paul Lang. It would be the only touchdown of the game for either team.
The next score would come off a Michigan State turnover. Jordan Kovacs would intercept a Maxwell overthrow, and set up a short field for the Wolverines to drive for the go-ahead Gibbons 21-yard field goal. A Michigan State fake punt by Mike Sadler would keep a Spartan drive ahead and lead to a Dan Conroy 19-yard field goal.
Michigan would then drive into Sparty territory late, and Gibbons would kick the go-ahead field goal for the Wolverines with nine seconds left to earn the final victory.
