Mitch Stringer-US PRESSWIRE

The Maryland Terrapins have lost quarterback Devin Burns and receiver Marcus Leak for the remainder of the season.

The Maryland Terrapins have lost quarterback Devin Burns and wide receiver Marcus Leak for the remainder of the 2012 season. Both players suffered foot injuries against North Carolina State, and both are now done for the year.

Burns becomes the third Terrapin quarterback to be lost after suffering a Lisfranc injury to his left foot. C.J. Brown tore his ACL before the season started, and Perry Hills also suffered a torn ACL against the Wolfpack. With Brown, Hills and Burns all done for the season, that leaves Maryland with just freshman Caleb Rowe. Rowe has thrown two passes in 2012, playing just a single series.

Backing up Rowe for the rest of the year will be linebacker Shawn Petty. Petty ran an option offense in high school, but he hasn't taken a snap since enrolling at Maryland.

Leak has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a broken toe. The sophomore receiver caught 23 balls for 393 yards and a pair of touchdowns this season.

The Terrapins will be in action again on Saturday when they travel to Boston College. The Eagles are just 1-6 on the year.
