Nevada travels to play Air Force in a pivotal Mountain West showdown Friday night.
Two teams involved in the logjam that is second place in the Mountain West meet to separate themselves from the pack Friday night when the Air Force Falcons host the Nevada Wolf Pack.
Both teams are 3-1 in the conference, tied for second with Fresno State and San Diego State while just a half game behind Boise State (6-1, 3-1). The Falcons (4-3 overall) have won three of their last four games, including two in a row over Wyoming and New Mexico. Nevada (6-2) is coming off a 39-38 loss to San Diego State.
It's a matchup of two of the best rushing offenses in the country. Air Force's 352.7 yards per game on the ground are 2nd in the nation while Nevada is averaging 272.0 yards on the ground per game, good for 7th in the nation. That could be important Friday night with possible snow flurries forecast for early in the game.
Game time, TV channel: 8 p.m. ET, CBS Sports Network
Point spread: Nevada is favored by 2.5 points
