Auburn's eagle mascot creates metaphor for Auburn football

Spirit the War Eagle is not supposed to remain in flight this long during his pregame performance. He's also not supposed to briefly leave the stadium. We can't blame him for postponing his contact with Auburn's football field as long as possible.

From Saturday night before the Texas A&M game, which saw the Tigers rewrite portions of their record books (in the bad way) and fall to 1-7, a mascot who's seen some terrible things takes a moment for himself up above it all:

This does happen sometimes before games, because bird is bird, but it's nice to know there's a place up there where you don't have to think about Auburn football for a little while.
