The Pittsburgh Panthers and Syracuse Orange meet for last time as members of the Big East on Friday.
The Pittsburgh Panthers (2-2, 0-1) travel to face the Syracuse Orange (1-3, 0-0) on Friday, Oct. 5 as each team looks for their first Big East win of the season in what will be their last season in the conference.
Both teams boast a better-than-average passing attack, with Syracuse ranking 10th with 341.8 yards per game and Pitt ranking 26th in the nation with 299.3 yards per game.
The Panthers lost an early conference game to the Cincinnati Bearcats on Sept. 6, getting embarrassed, 34-10, at home. Since that loss Pittsburgh has responded, winning two straight, including a Sept. 15 35-17 victory over Virginia Tech.
The only win of the season for the Orange came Sept. 15 against FCS school Stony Brook. Last week Syracuse lost to Minnesota, 17-10, in Minneapolis. Despite a 1-3 record the Orange have had a formidable offense in general, losing to now No. 24 Northwestern, 42-41, and putting 29 points up against No. 13 USC.
Pittsburgh has won the last seven meetings between the two schools, winning 33-20 last season.
Game time, TV channel: 7 p.m. ET, ESPN
Point spread: Pittsburgh favored by two
