Silly things are happening in a Michigan football game, which means this could be the best kind of Michigan football game.
Northwestern-Michigan, currently 7-7 in the first quarter, is on pace to be one of those games. You know, those games where everything goes wrong for both Michigan and its opponent, Denard Robinson comes in late (he's not starting today) and does many both good and bad things and Michgan somehow wins on an improbable drive at the end. That's what I'm seeing here.
For evidence, I'll turn to this run by Fitzgerald Toussaint, which nearly set up a red zone chance but instead meant Northwestern ball:
It was followed by a Wildcats fumble that gave Michigan their opportunity right back. See what I'm saying?
Michigan fans had emotions about all that:
I am exhausting my supply of negative exclamations for Michigan's running plays.

WHAT IN THE HELL WAS THAT TOUSSAINT

Toussaint could have run straight into the end zone. He instead tries to cut at the last second, and coughs up the ball. Awesome.

Devin Garder has played well in relief of his roommate, breaking off a couple big runs, a touchdown and 65 yards worth of completions so far.
