Oregon Ducks running back Kenjon Barner was walked into the locker room early against Cal after showing signs of a right arm injury, perhaps in the wrist or hand area. He first expressed discomfort while trying to adjust his equipment before a goal line snap, doubling over in pain before leaving the game. On the sidelines, he was visibly wincing while trainers examined his hand.
Barner leads the Pac-12 in yards from scrimmage.
On the defensive side, safety Avery Patterson was able to walk off the field after a non-contact knee injury, with his leg buckling while chasing down a Cal runner. It did not look good at all -- ESPN's cameras showed him crying while limping down toward the locker room. Patterson leads all Oregon defensive backs in tackles and is tied for the team lead in interceptions.
