Tennessee Volunteers linebacker Curt Maggitt is out for the rest of the season with a torn ACL, according to Volunteers head coach Derek Dooley. Maggitt, a sophomore from West Palm Beach, Fla., hurt his knee in the second half of the Volunteers' 51-48 four-overtime loss to the Missouri Tigers on Saturday.
Before his injury, Maggit had recorded 30 total tackles, 16 solo, five tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, five quarterback hurries, two sacks and a blocked punt in nine games this season. The top candidate to replace Maggitt for next Saturday's road game against the Vanderbilt Commodores may be senior Willie Bohannon.
The Volunteers will enter Saturday's game two games shy of bowl eligibility at 4-6. The Volunteers play the Commodores at Vanderbilt Stadium in Nashville, Tenn. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. kickoff and will be televised nationally on ESPN and will be available on the Watch ESPN app.
