Georgia finally has a running back in its 2013 class.

A.J. Turman, a top running back recruit from Orlando (Fla.) Boone High School, committed to the Georgia Bulldogs Tuesday evening. Turman, a three- or four-star recruit depending on the service, also received interest from quite a few schools, including Georgia, Florida State, Tennessee, Auburn and Miami.

Turman recently visited Georgia with his parents, and saw that Georgia did not have any running backs in its 2013 class.

Why wasn't Turman more heavily pursued by the in-state teams? That answer is complicated, but mostly stems from the loaded year in the state for running backs. Turman would be a top-five back in the Sunshine State in other years, but in the 2013 class, he's merely top-10.

Georgia seems like a good fit for Turman. He needs to be in a traditional, pro-style offense, as he is a tough runner who lacks great lateral agility. At Georgia, he'll battle talented sophomores Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall.

Georgia now has 27 commitments in its class of 2013.
